I am Sharon Brien — a volunteer racial justice worker, gardener, and community activist based in Wells, Somerset. I created this suite of resources out of a deep conviction that remembrance, education, and action on racial justice should not be confined to a single month or a single moment.
Black history is not a seasonal concern. It is woven into the fabric of British life, global culture, and the ongoing struggle for human dignity. These resources are designed to help organisations, faith communities, schools, and individuals engage with that history year-round.
"In remembering, it is important that we honour what has been done, and what still needs to be done."
Everything here is rooted in Somerset and the South West — a region with a profound relationship with the history of the transatlantic slave trade, its diverse communities, and the ongoing work towards racial equality — but it reaches outward to the UK and to the world.
A comprehensive suite of resources designed for organisations, faith communities, and schools committed to racial justice as a year-round practice.

3 DatesThe libation ceremony is an ancient African tradition of pouring liquid as an offering to the ancestors. These scripts bring that tradition into contemporary settings with care and integrity.
A full ceremony script rooted in West African spiritual tradition. Includes opening prayers, ancestral invocations, the pouring of libation, and a closing blessing. Suitable for community gatherings and commemorative events.
A ceremony script that honours the tradition without specific religious framing. Inclusive for multi-faith and secular settings. Suitable for workplaces, community organisations, and civic gatherings.
A ceremony script that integrates the libation tradition with Christian theology and Scripture. Includes biblical reflection, prayer, and congregational response. Suitable for churches and faith-based organisations.
Sharon offers training and speaking rooted in the same commitment that runs through all her work: not diversity theatre, but genuine, lasting institutional change.

Half-day and full-day workshops for organisations, faith communities, and schools. Built around the calendar and training resource library.
